BFEC completes the Jimmy Smith Park – Boone Creek Enhancement Project
After 4 years of applying for grant fund from the NC Clean Water Management Trust Fund (CWMTF) the project is now complete. BFEC worked with National Committee for the New River, the Town of Boone, and Appalachian State University in the project. Design and permitting took place in the Spring of 2011 with construction completed in October 2011. The project incorporates both natural channel design and stormwater control elements. The site is located in/near downtown Boone. Thanks to the CWMTF for funding the project and for all the aforementioned partners for their help and patience.
