Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)

BFEC professionals have successfully performed numerous ESAs for clients ranging from local/regional land trusts, local and state governments, large non-profits, and private realtors.  Our Phase 1 ESAs are performed in accordance with the latest ASTM standard E 1527-05 and include site reconnaissance such as physical descriptions, mapping, interviews, environmental database surveys, historical aerial photography reviews, and chain of title searches. When conducting an ESA, BFEC staff can also perform botanical surveys, Threatened or Endangered surveys, as well as delineate stream and wetland areas.  Recent projects include ESAs for the 8,600 acre Doe Mountain sale to the State of Tennessee, 3,600 acre Stone Mountain land transfer to conservation easement with The Land Trust of Tennessee, and additions to Pond Mountain Game Lands in Ashe County, North Carolina for the Blue Ridge Conservancy and the State.
