Erosion and Sediment Control (E&S)

Brushy Fork Team personnel have prepared multiple sediment and erosion control plans associated with stream restoration project(s) as well as site planning/construction project(s). These plans have all been approved by NCDENR and Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC). On-site oversight of construction activities by Team personnel allows us to respond quickly and adaptively to manage sediment onsite and avoid downstream water quality impairment or regulatory violations.

To improve our capabilities, our project managers and key personnel have attended sediment and erosion control training sessions hosted by the University of Tennessee including the Fundamentals of Sediment and Erosion Control (Level I) and Design Principles for Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control (Level II),as well as an NC State University’s Stormwater Best Management Practices and Low Impact Development overview short course.  Our capabilities run the gamut from simple silt-fencing and seeding/strawing of disturbed areas to rock-check dams, biodegradable stabilization matting, and pumping/piping stream features during construction; we are prepared and proactive.
