BFEC is seeking an Administrative Assistant/Environmental Technician.
The position will start as an entry level administrative assistant position with the opportunity to transition to an Environmental Technician as training progresses. This position is based out of Trade, TN. We seek individuals who are highly motivated, productive and who strive to achieve the highest quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate needs to have at least one year of administrative experience in a professional office. Once training is completed, as an Environmental Technician at BFEC, you will use your knowledge of the natural sciences to provide support to the various disciplines within the company. Typical tasks include permitting, assisting construction team with installation of erosion control matting and plantings, stream and wetland delineations and functional assessments, assisting with Phase I ESAs, technical report writing, stream morphological surveys, map creation using ArcMap and AutoCAD Civil 3D software, etc.
Necessary Skills as Administrative Assistant:
-Ability to create and maintain Excel spreadsheets.
-Provides administrative support to office staff and field personnel, including providing travel arrangements (hotels and rental vehicles), ordering supplies, etc.
-Provide clerical assistance such as copying, sorting, scanning, and filing.
-Ability to organize large amounts of documents and information.
-Ability to create and maintain an electronic filing system.
-Assist with special projects as assigned and ensure processes are completed in a timely manner.
-Must be able to use Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe proficiently.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
-Must be consistently accurate, dependable, and be able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
-Must be able to work as a team member and build relationships with management, staff, and clients.
Minimum Qualificiations for Environmental Technician:
-Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
-Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and ESRI mapping software
-Have strong communication skills, attention to detail and be able to work both independently and as part of a team
-Physically able to lift 50-80 lbs, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and hike/traverse difficult terrain
-Basic knowledge of local flora and soils
-Rosgen training or hydrology related training or courses
Salary is commensurate with experience.
